Willow Ridge Vineyards & Winery is nestled in a scenic rural setting on a 150 year old, 4th generation Donnel family farm in rural Westervelt, Illinois.

Owned and operated by Dodie Bowers and Scott LaZear, the red roof of Willow Ridge can be seen for some distance as you approach the stately farm that sits as a backdrop to the vineyards.

One of the major attractions of the winery is the building itself. With exposed beams, large windows and warm colored rustic floors it truly makes for an inviting and welcoming space to gather and relax.

Our tasting room features a Tuscan style atmosphere complete with a handcrafted bar, stained glass windows, and a stone fireplace. It’s the perfect place to visit with friends and enjoy entertainment.

We offer wine tastings for all of our award winning wines, which are available for purchase by the glass or bottle and may also be purchased for carry-out.

The tasting room is also available to rent for a smaller gatherings after normal business hours.

We also have a larger banquet room available for private events.

Outside offers a pergola seating area and a three section terrace area overlooking the vineyards, making it the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset.  (Information from Willow Ridge Winery)

The Walnut Street Winery is unlike many other wineries.  We make fine wines in small batches using the best raw materials available from some of the best vineyards all over the world.

If you want a great Pinot Noir, then you better use the best grape juices and concentrates from California, Oregon, or Washington.  What about a wonderful glass of Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon?  This wine can be made from juices and concentrates that come from fine grapes grown in France.  Our suppliers can ship us the materials to make wines from where the best grapes are grown – from Australia, California, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, France, Argentina, Italy, and more.

The end result is great tasting wine made in Rochester, Illinois that will taste like a wine made from where the grape was grown.

Our wine garden features a bocce ball court that is 60 feet long and 13 feet wide.  You can enjoy your wine out in the open air, along with a delicious Isabell’s Pizza or some of the great Wisconsin cheeses that we have available.  The wine garden is a unique setting for hosting wedding receptions, class reunions, office parties, Christmas parties and other group events.  (Information from Walnut Street Winery – Rochester, IL)

For more than 40 years, wood paneling covered the beautiful arch doorway at the former Hillsboro Opera House, built in the 1800s.  Two local couples restored the building with a new business, Opera House Brewing Company.

“Our philosophy is that we want to create small batches of creative beers so every time you come to the Opera House we have something new for you to try,” said Schmidt.

“We want to provide a great customer experience,” Schmidt said.  “We want to show people this is a great bedroom community that has a lot to offer.”

We love wine.

There is no Yellow Brick Road for learning about wine.  The Starting Point and the Ending Point don’t matter.  It’s all about the journey and the different paths you go on that are fun.  Village Wine & Spirits is here to help you with that journey.

We are not only a bottle shop, but a full service bar, with a huge selection of fine beer and spirits in addition to our wine library. Any bottle of wine is available to drink in the shop for a small corkage fee.

We often have weekend music in the Register Room, tapas Thursday-Saturday nights from Robin’s Nest Gourmet Fare, and regular wine tastings, featuring some of the finest selections we offer.
